Victoria and Albert Museum - London - Case Study

May 2021:- Severn Seating received an email from the V & A Museum enquiring if we could supply some benches which would be located inside the museum for an exhibition which was to open at the end of May.

We sent some photos of benches which were for sale in our showroom in Tewkesbury and they selected three. One bench was a four-seater with genuine Victorian cast frames and hardwood timber slats, the other two were two-seaters, one with Victorian cast ends and the other with unusual folding frames which was about fifty years old.

The benches were delivered personally to the museum three days before the exhibition was due to open.

Once in place, a member of staff asked us if we would like to look around the exhibition which we readily accepted.

The exhibition is all about Alice in Wonderland and is called Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser. It explores the story from its origins, adaptations and reinventions over 157 years and is quite amazing and surreal. It is certainly worth a visit for visitors of any age. The exhibition is on until the end of December 2021.

The benches are located in various areas of the exhibition for visitors to rest and take in the exhibits and atmosphere.

Severn Seating is pleased and honoured for the V&A to favour us with their business and we wish them every success.
